About

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Political Science Department of Bilkent University in Ankara and a career diplomat at the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the European Union in Brussels. I am writing this blog in the context of my Ph.D. research titled “Political Interactions of Muslim Organizations with Liberal States in Europe: Negotiating Religio-Cultural Diversity in the Human Rights Context”. The conception and the design of my research is based not only on my academic background in political science and international relations but also on my professional experience as a diplomat engaged in human rights as well as security issues. In my research, I am trying to pursue a multidisciplinary approach to tackle complex issues of migration, integration, human rights  and security.

The views expressed in this blog are mine and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the institution I am associated with.

Here is a short presentation of my research project:

Mustafa Osman TURAN

I have recently served in Afghanistan to lead a Provincial Reconstruction Team in Jawzjan Province.
